3 Tips For Making Your Trampoline Safe For Your Children

Jacey Martin

Getting a trampoline for your children is a wonderful investment. It will provide them with hours of fun and will motivate them to get outside and to be active. However, one of the main things that you need to strive for when you purchase a trampoline for your children is safety. There are several things that you can do to make sure that your children are as safe as possible while they are outside jumping on the trampoline and this article will discuss 3 great tips for doing this.

Dig A Hole And Place It In The Ground

Rather than having your trampoline set above the ground where your children are prone to fall off of it, you can instead place your trampoline in the ground. This is done by digging a circular hole that fits your trampoline perfectly inside with no room on the sides for your children to fall through. The hole will need to be deep enough so that the trampoline is level with the ground. This makes it so that when your children are jumping on the trampoline they will not be in danger of falling off and breaking an arm or leg, or otherwise injuring themselves.

Purchase A Trampoline Enclosure

If you don't want to or aren't able to dig a hole and put your trampoline inside, or if you just want extra protection for your trampoline that is in the ground, you can purchase a trampoline enclosure. These enclosures are made to go all of the way around trampolines and have a small door that can velcro shut when not in use. The frame of the enclosure is made of steel and attaches directly onto the steel frame of the trampoline. The height of these enclosures can vary. This allows your children to jump quite high and still be within the enclosure's protection.

Make Sure The Padding Is Securely In Place

Almost every trampoline comes with padding that is meant to go around the perimeter of the trampoline to provide extra protection. This padding stops your children from falling through the springs and pinching themselves on them. However, this padding isn't going to work properly if it either isn't used, or isn't put securely into place. The padding will either come with ties or velcro that will need to be attached all the way around the trampoline. Once these are all securely attached, the padding will stay in place and you won't have to worry about it sliding off.
